How to Find Your Wi-Fi Name and Password

Last reviewed 2026-05-11

Your Wi-Fi name and password may be printed on the equipment label or saved in the app that manages your Wi-Fi.

Before You Start

  • Check whether you are using Purple Cow's equipment or your own router, because the password may live in different places.
  • If you changed the Wi-Fi name or password before, the original sticker may no longer match your live network.

Steps

  1. Look for a label on your Purple Cow modem, router, gateway, or fibre equipment that shows the default Wi-Fi name and password.
  2. If you use the Purple WiFi App or Purple Fibre App, open the app and check the current Wi-Fi details there.
  3. If you use your own router, check that router's app or admin page instead of the Purple Cow label.
  4. Once you find the right network, test it on one device before reconnecting everything else in your home.

Frequently asked questions

What if the sticker password doesn't work?
That usually means the Wi-Fi settings were changed after setup, so you should check the app or router settings for the current password.
Can Purple Cow tell me the password if I changed it myself?
We can help you find the right place to check or reset it. If you use your own router, that router's app or settings controls the saved password.
